'Mimi's Marvelous' starts blooming here as the purest blush-pink you can imagine. The corduroy veining only adds to the texture. As the season progresses the color softens a bit, but the olive color near the base of the petal leading to the tiny chartreuse throat is a constant. 'Mimi's Marvelous' produces more than 15 buds on a branched scape and has a long bloom season. Jeff Salter has said that 'Mandalay Bay Music' has parented some of his best introductions. This plant is no exception. 'Mimi's Marvelous' has been growing here through our freeze-thaw winters since 2003. It is definitely Northern hardy.Both pod and pollen fertile, 'Mimi's Marvelous' is one of Mimi's mainstays, and will be one of the most beautiful flowers in your garden.
