Welcome to Listening Lizard Daylilies! A garden carved out of a forest, a sunny riot of color in a shady peaceful wood. We sell approximately 600 cultivars and vary varieties from year to year as we bring in the newer stock from our display beds. We sell some older garden classics as well as many newer collector hybrids. Our peak bloom is in mid-June to mid-July. We love to have visitors and we gladly welcome mail orders. Our goals are to be friendly, helpful, and generous.

This web site features Terry's 2004 introductions and a few photos of our garden. Terry grows from 2,000-4,000 seedlings per year.

We ship on Mondays and Tuesday and always ship at least two fan plants. A minimum order of $50 excluding shipping is required. We ship USPS Priority Mail. Shipping charge is $8 plus $.50 per plant. We accept checks or money orders. Bonus plants equal 20% or the order and bonus suggestions are welcome.

Our garden is opened from May 25 until July 23, 2007, from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. We are open before and after these dats by appointment. Please try to call one day ahead.

Directions from Charlotte: Take 485 to Mint Hill exit at 218. Go RIGHT on 218 for 11.8 miles. At Love Mill Road there is a yellow sign directing you to go left for 4.8 miles. At Rock Hole Road turn RIGHT and go 1.5 miles. We are on the right. You can't miss our sign.

Lizard’s Midnight Star

A stand out in the garden, because of its large glowing green to yellow star. The star is set off by very dark red petals and sepals. Because of the combination of height, size, and strong contrasting color you can’t miss spider from 100 ft away! 75.00

Lizard’s Birthday Bow

Curly pink ribbon self, white mid ribs and green throat. Very recurved spider looks like a bow on a package. Often opens with three flowers to a scape with three way branching 50.00

Lizard’s Dashing Spider

(Baucom’03)
36” M 8” Dor
Chocolate brown with raisin chevron. Very distinct dots and dashes of raisin extend into petals and melt to mauve by late afternoon. Very different colors on this spider. 40.00

Lizard’s Purple Fashion

36” ML 6” Dor
This flower is a glowing magenta purple with an intense violet chevron. I have not seen an other spider with this over all color intensity. Wonderful when placed among yellow flowers. 50.00

Lizard’s Plum Peachy

Peach with a very large plum chevron. This spider has the largest chevron I’ve seen. It’s the biggest flower on tallest scape that I am introducing this year. Three way branching with multiple blooms per scape 40.00

True lavender petals, very distinct near white sepals, makes this one and interesting bi-tone. Many garden visitors have expressed interest in this very tailored small flower 25.00
