Visitors welcome anytime during the bloom season.  Peak bloom in mid-May in our zone 8 garden.

The welcome sign is always out Flat Creek Daylilies! Located 3 miles north of Nashville on U.S. Highway 129 Alapaha Highway, Flat Creek Daylily owners, Jimmy and Gladys Griffin, grow more than colorful, hybrid lilies. They have carefully cultivated a southern setting amongst the pines, a lush green haven where rainbows of daylilies reflect the splendor of the South.

Fifteen perfectly spaced beds of pleasing shapes and sizes consist of over seven hundred + old and new daylily varieties. This creates a breathtaking background for the Griffins' home which is a simple, white, wood frame  house, over 100 years old. The sizes and shapes of the beds are designed to compliment the uniqueness of each beautiful blossom. Beds are bordered with old brick, aztec grass, varigated lirope and society garlic. These quaint cascades add richness to a landscape backdropped with a split-rail fence and primitive farm implements.

Daylilies add a sense of grace and beauty to the garden, enhancing the environment. The song of birds, buzzing bees, butterflies and a soft warm breeze wafting beneath tall pines transform the area so that the hum of traffic along the highway magically disappears.

An inviting gazebo situated in the garden, designed and built by Jimmy, provides an excellent view for much of the garden and blends delightfully with an old country store, which brings back memories of days gone by, with its vast collection of antiques.

Visitors attracted by the dazzling daylilies may decide to linger a moment to enjoy the blooms which are too soon gone. But the Southern hospitality of Jimmy and Gladys Griffin withstands the evening shadows to bloom again.
