When I was at the Barnes’ in Wade North Carolina, Linda Sue walked with me down to where my plants were growing and we came to this plant. Upon seeing it, Linda Sue stopped short, “Woah, woah,woah,woah,woah!” came out of her mouth. That’s 5 “woahs”. I don’t know if there’s a rating system for daylilies like there is for hotels or restaurants, but Linda Sue knows her daylilies, and I’ll take a “5 woaher” from her any time. She agreed to let me name it for her.

LINDA SUE LOVES ME has a garden presence that will stop you in your tracks, too. It is a velvet burgundy with a lovely green throat and is nicely budded and branched. I love the shot taken with the sun behind the blossom. It shows the clarity of the color in the flower and the excellent scapes it sits on.

This plant is bound to be a good breeder too. CAPTAIN NEMO and MEPHISTO WALTZ are both stunning in their own right and their kid will certainly do them proud.
