NOT TONIGHT JOSEPHINE
(ODDS AND ENDS x TUXEDO JUNCTION)
37 x 7 Tet Dor ML EMO
3 Laterals + terminal Y = 25+ buds.
The color of NOT TONIGHT JOSEPHINE is not easy to pin down,
I guess neither was Josephine. It blooms in an unusual color range.
The two slides you see were both taken with Kodak Elitechrome
100. Probably around 10:00 in the morning. The lighter one in
early June, the darker one in late July. It shows NTJ in a much
more dramatic frame of mind. The eye has darkened considerably
and the base color is more vibrant. I am at a loss to explain
why the flower darkened up as the season progressed. I don't remember
it doing so previously. I remember it as having bloomed the lighter
shade. Nevertheless, NOT TONIGHT JOSEPHINE is a garden magnet
in either case.
The flower always has a darker wash around the throat. The
throat starts out as olive and ands up as cream at the end of
the day. It is extremely sunfast and holds up perfectly even in
the hottest days.
A modest ruffle and a silver wire at the edge complete this
little beauty.
NOT TONIGHT JOSEPHINE is a wonderful addition to any garden.
Its striking color will attract your eye and cheer your
heart.
Both pod and pollen fertile.
