LET THE GAMES BEGIN was named because the intense saffron color this diamond dusted flower blares across the garden like a trumpet fanfare. It is really one of those head snappers. Those of you who know the pod parents of this flower know that both BY MYSELF and SPELLBINDER have very vivid golden orange colors.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN is more intense than either. It has the same color value as MARY'S GOLD which I take as the standard against which to judge this color range. It's an old fashioned flower, but it packs a wallop that is unique.
At nearly 50" LTGB is a "back of the boarder" plant with a long season.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN is also both pod and pollen fertile and has been the parent of several of my future introductions.
