Floyd Cove Nursery is synonymous with the word Daylily.  Known for over 30 years as one of the leaders in new hybrid Daylilies, a visit to Floyd Cove will provide an opportunity to see Daylilies in a truly unique setting. Located in the historical area of Enterprise Florida, along the north shore of Lake Munroe, the nursery is located on 4 acres in a Florida native wooded hammock.

Floyd Cove Nursery was the creation of Patrick & Grace Stamile, who formed the original Floyd Cove Nursery on Long Island NY in the early 1980’s, and moved to Florida in the early 1990’s.  Floyd Cove operates as a commercial nursery and has been on its present site for the past 12 years.

Patrick and Grace Stamile, are both award winning hybridizers, who have introduced over 790 cultivars, since 1984. Both have won numerous AHS awards at the national and local level.  Floyd Cove’s portfolio is very diverse. Our named varieties include full forms, doubles, butterflies, candies, spiders, unusual forms, and miniatures. Enjoying a quick growing season in Florida allows us to introduce a variety of cultivars twice a year (Spring & Fall).  During May each year we give daylily enthusiasts the opportunity to see our cultivars in bloom at the nursery.

In 2007, the business was sold to Guy Pierce, also a hybridizer, who for many years owned Maunu Kea Daylily Farm in Hilo, Hawaii and Daylily Lane in Sydney, Australia.  Guy continues to operate the nursery to the same high standards as Pat & Grace.  This change has also provided a unique partnership that allows Floyd Cove to have three respected hybridizers creating “Cutting Edge” daylilies.  Pat, Grace and Guy hybridize along side each other and continue to seek to introduce outstanding daylilies for all to enjoy.

The nursery is broken into 4 main areas:

The seedling fields, the hoop house, the greenhouse and the potted area.  As you drive along the driveway through native Florida landscape you will arrive at the main garden area. You will see a seedling field to your left, the hoop house with our future introductions directly in front of you and our seedling fields to the right.  Behind the seedling field on the right is the large green house, not in use and behind it the small green house which is used for hybridizing during April, May & June.  We also hybridize in the hoop house using our future introductions.  Behind the small green house is the potted area which holds over 6000 pots for sale.  This includes our latest and previous named varieties and also a selection of other hybridizers named varieties.
