ART GALLERY GARDENS is located at the 5 acre Lake Helen home of Ludlow and Rachel Lambertson, Florida residents for over 16 years. Luddy has been introducing his daylilies since 1995 with a hybridizing focus on blue eyes and edges, teeth, uf’s and patterned daylilies. Aptly named Art Gallery Gardens, you’ll enjoy the tranquility, beauty and artistry of this garden built around both Ludlow’s daylily creations and his sculptures. Walk amidst water gardens, exotic tropical plantings and oriental pagodas which have been the inspiration for Ludlow’s paintings and drawings. Always out in nature, you’ll find Luddy mixing his hybridizing with birdwatching or adding another pond, sculpture, plant or exotic bush to perfect his artistic landscape. His wife Rachel manages their garden business and is usually the first person you’ll talk to by e-mail or telephone. Luddy and Rachel have created a perfect union of the talents of two artists who met back in New York City in the early 70’s. They look forward to walking the garden paths with you! DIRECTIONS to Art Gallery Gardens FROM SOUTH: I-4 East to EXIT 116 LAKE HELEN. Turn LEFT onto MAIN Street (AKA Orangecamp Road). Go 2 blocks east - make LEFT onto SUMMIT Avenue by the bank. Travel on SUMMIT just over 1 mile. Pass curve marked by yellow & black arrows, Turn RIGHT onto McKENZIE Road. Turn LEFT immediately (10 feet up) onto LINDA SUE DRIVE. Make 2nd RIGHT onto OAKAPPLE, a dirt road. 3rd house on RIGHT, #203 is on fencepost. Garden in rear. FROM NORTH: I-95 S TO I-4 West to EXIT 118 DELAND. Turn onto SR 44 WEST towards DeLand. Turn LEFT at FIRST traffic light onto SR 4139 (aka SUMMIT Avenue). PASS the college and make 1st LEFT onto McKENZIE Road. Turn LEFT immediately (just 10 feet up) onto LINDA SUE Drive. Make 2nd RIGHT onto OAKAPPLE, a dirt road. 3rd house on RIGHT, #203 is on fencepost. Garden in rear.
